Congratulations to the 2009 Creative Arts Scholarship winners: Amy Bennett, Boulder Creek High School; Enumi Kim, Mountain Ridge High School; Briannne Luden, Barry Goldwater High School; Christine Sweet, Boulder Creek High School.

In addition, Christine Sweet received the Norien A. Spence Memorial Scholarship Award.

The 2010 application forms will be available in October 2010. In the meanwhile, please see the 2009 forms for reference.

The application forms are now available for the 2009 Creative Arts Awards and Scholarships for High School, College-Bound Seniors who will or are seeking a career in the arts.

The competition is open to any students who is a senior in high school and is either considering or seeking post-secondary education in visual, performing, or literary arts and attends one of the following high schools: Barry Goldwater, Boulder Creek, Cactus Shadows, Deer Valley, Mountain Ridge, Sandra Day O'Connor, or Sunrise Mountain; or is a resident in areas of the north valley and is enrolled in a charter, home school or other Arizona approved school.

Applications are due by 5:00 pm on January 12, 2009. Award winners will be announced during the Arts Council of the North Valley's fundraiser, Picnic Under the Stars, on Saturday, April 25, 2009.

This is the fourth year of the program and we are very excited and proud to be able to provide awards in the amounts of $1000 or $500 for students that have shown a desire to further their study and expertise in the creative arts.

Interested and motivated students from all artistic and performing arts disciplines are highly encouraged to apply.
