The ACNV is a donation funded, volunteer-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit that would not exist without the generosity of our donors and public support we receive thorough grants from the Arizona Commission on the Arts.

MISSION

The mission of the Arts Council of the North Valley is to provide leadership in support of artistic excellence, understanding and education of the arts, and to nurture the cultural life and vitality of our community.

FOUNDING VALUES

Support high quality art and artistic expression

Support of high quality art and artists, artistic presentation and performance is central to the Arts Council’s mission, whether it is in service to an existing high quality entity or assistance in the development of artistic excellence of artists or organizations.

Make life-forming connections for our youth and adults through education in the arts

Learning the “language of the arts” and making the arts personally meaningful to our youth and adults is at the core of their development as human beings and the communities’ cultural development. One of the measures of the Council’s effectiveness as well as the individuals and organizations that it supports will be their contribution to education.

Provide financial, administrative support and expand opportunities for artists and arts organizations

By networking expertise, raising funds for professional development and organizational advancement, we seek to realize a future that is better because of a collective effort that would not otherwise be possible as individuals. Fundraising, board development, planning, leadership training, marketing and financial planning are central to our purpose.

Create a lively, cooperative, cultural environment that invites participation, expands audience base and attracts economic development in support of the arts

Marketing and promotion of the arts in the North Valley begins with co-ordination and the creation of a cultural calendar and marketing program. Financial support will be acquired to complement existing organizational promotional funding to have a multiplying effect rather than competing for resources.

Promote art in our environment and the quality of the communities’ public spaces

An art program for public spaces and the environment will be integrated into the cultural planning process. Art in the environment will require public/ private collaboration and support.

Bring our community together to embrace a vision and create a cultural plan

The cultural plan can only be as successful as the ability to involve a broad and comprehensive cross section of the community. Widespread participation is necessary to create the most thoughtful and insightful plan. Shared responsibility for and belief in the goals and objectives creates the momentum and energy necessary to attract the funding and workforce to implement the plan.

Build strong relationships between artists and community

The voice and movement of the artist on state, the words of the author in his book or the passion of expression in her painting is all that is necessary to experience the art. However, the Council seeks to enhance the connection between artists and community, to broaden the depth of understanding and to personalize the understanding of artists as art makers and human beings.
